Schengen Visa
If you do not have the Dutch nationality you might require a visa to be admitted to the Schengen area. A visa is an authorization made visible by placing a sticker in a passport or other valid travel document. The visa indicates that at the time of issuing no objection was made to the entry for a temporary stay or transit to a third country. Possession of a visa does not confer automatic right of entry. Even when entering one must demonstrate that the conditions of entry are met.
The Consular section of the Cabinet of the Governor of Sint Maarten only handles visas for the Schengen area, if the main destination is the Netherlands, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, Spain or Portugal. If you intend to travel through the Netherlands, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, Spain or Portugal to a non-Schengen country (more than one transit in the Schengen area), please contact the Consular section.
